Beautiful Ruegen - Germany's largest island
The island of Ruegen is the most popular holiday destination at the german Baltic coast. Two national parks and several nature preservation areas take care that the intact nature of Ruegen is preserved for future generations. The white chalk cliffs are an absolute highlight to see. In the 1930s the Nazis attempted to built the biggest holiday resort in the world here on the island. In Prora you can see the ruins of this construction.
